Hydrokultur

Particularly clean, fresh and stable

High-tech hydroponic systems enable the reduction of the need for chemicals for lettuce. In this way, we help growers to meet the demand from retailers, the food service industry and the processing industry for clean products. The leaves are free of sand, dirt and other particles, which makes it easier to wash the lettuce. As the root ball is retained, the product can be offered as “Living Lettuce” and stays fresh for longer. Trio lettuces, where three varieties are sold in one pot, are particularly attractive.

Salatrio Mix

Classic Trio Mix

Classic Trio is a combination of oak leaf lettuce and lollo lettuce. With its attractive appearance, reliable varieties and high yield, it sets standards in trio production.

Modern Trio Mix

Modern Trios are customized combinations with one or more Salanova® varieties. The aim is to improve shape, color, appearance and durability.

Salanova® Trio Mix

The Salanova® trio offers completely new textures, leaf shapes and color combinations. Thanks to the “ready to cut” principle, it is quicker to prepare and offers a unique taste. The Salanova® Trio can be harvested as a whole head and as a Salanova® Teenleaf mix.

Optimum plant growth thanks to LED lighting

With LED lighting, growers can precisely control the amount of light required for optimal plant growth. The use of LED lighting enables production on several levels on top of each other, which significantly increases efficiency. This enables production in cities and short transportation routes. In addition, the yield is stable as the harvest is not dependent on the natural climate. This means that retailers can also work with producers in regions with difficult climatic and growing conditions.

Numerous advantages for growers

Hydroponics offers numerous advantages for growers who rely on efficient and sustainable cultivation methods. One of the biggest advantages is the high area efficiency, as plants can be grown more densely in smaller areas and in vertical systems, which significantly increases the yield per square meter. In addition, there is no leaching of nutrients with hydroponics, which means that valuable resources are better utilized and water consumption is minimized.

Another advantage is the reduced use of pesticides. As the system takes place in controlled environments, plants are less susceptible to pests and diseases, reducing the need for chemicals and protecting the environment. The labor-friendliness of production is also a plus, as hydroponic cultivation is simplified by modern technologies, which reduces labor and at the same time enables greater efficiency.

Hydroponic plants are also characterized by a particularly clean product, as no soil is used and therefore no contamination by dirt or undesirable substances is possible. Last but not least, hydroponics enables year-round supply, as the growing conditions can be kept constant regardless of seasonal fluctuations. This ensures continuous production and a reliable supply to the markets.
